Important new features coming to KLIKBoks HUB (KB1200) require a new core firmware update procedure.
Existing Update Process
KB1200 users are accustomed to updating the device firmware through the Settings panel:
When available, a new firmware version will be shown in the Software Version button field in blue. Clicking on this button initiates the firmware update process, indicated by the APK Download bar at the bottom of the panel. The device will restart on completion of the process and the new version will have been installed.
Core Update Process
The KB1200 will soon be upgraded with several new and important features, including a cloud CMS, Digital Signage, and more. Preparation for these new features necessitates a core firmware update process to install new files. This process must be followed in order to apply needed security and performance updates in addition to new feature updates and is recommended for all users.
Core OS Update
Upgrading to version 4.2.5.025 requires that core Android OS files be updated and added. The following steps automate and lead the user through the update process over the air (OTA).
Note: Internet access is required for this process. Please ensure that the KB1200 is connected to the Internet.
1. Start by locating the Core menu on the left side of the screen and clicking on the Settings icon.
2. Once in the Settings panel, scroll down to, and click on, About.
3. At the top of the page, locate and click on Software Update.
4. With the Firmware Update window open, verify that OTA: points to klik.zip and click to start update process.
5. Wait for update process to complete, do not power off KB1200.
6. Once update has been applied, the device will restart and display the new firmware version on the Home Screen.
The KB1200 is now updated and future maintenance updates will follow the standard update procedure, unless a core update is specifically indicated.
