Every KLIK model comes pre-configured from the factory, with default settings that allow immediate use on power-up. Those default settings include KLIK Name, Password Requirement, Wallpaper Image, and more. While KLIK is ready for use as-is, most applications will require some degree of customization of settings, and all applications require connection of KLIK to an available network.
KLIK Wizard automates the setup process by guiding you through all steps.
What is KLIK Wizard?
KLIK Wizard is a software application that runs on Windows or Mac computers, and guides the user through the KLIK setup and configuration process. The app is available as a free download from www.klikboks.com/setup.
How Does it Work?
KLIK Wizard uses the PC's Wi-Fi to locate a new KLIK device, then steps the user through all of the setup and configurations options. Once the options have been selected, it pushes the settings to KLIK and completes the connection to the network.
First Step - Network Connection
In order for KLIK to communicate with users' devices, and allow them to stream content, it must be on the same network as they are. Getting KLIK connected to an existing network is the first step in the Wizard setup procedure. The Wizard starts that process by searching for nearby KLIK devices using Wi-Fi. Every new KLIK device will transmit its default name (e.g. KLIK Boks 123), as well as display it on the screen of the monitor or projector it's connected to.
Clicking on the Next button starts the discovery process through which the Wizard will find KLIK devices.
KLIKWizard will search for and identify all KLIK devices in the immediate area, using Wi-Fi. This search requires that the Wi-Fi is enabled on the PC used for setup. Note that PC firewalls and anti-virus applications can sometimes block the discovery of new wireless device. If the KLIK device cannot be discovered through Wi-Fi, try connecting it to a wired Ethernet network connection.
Once the KLIK is located, it will appear in the discovery list. Note that KLIKWizard will also locate KLIK devices connected to a wired network. The icon to the right of the name will indicate wired or wireless connection status.
Click on the KLIK device name to select it for setup, then press next.
KLIK needs to be connected to the network in order to be available for users to stream content, while remaining connected to that same network. KLIK Boks models can be connected to a wired network (preferred) or a wireless network. Select the network type that the KLIK will connect to and press next. In the case of a wired connection, you will be prompted to connect the Ethernet cable and once the KLIK is identified on the network KLIKWizard will prompt to move to the next step.
In the case of Wireless connection of KLIK, ensure that the PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi Access Point that the KLIK will be connected to. Select Connect to Wi-Fi and press Next to continue with wireless network connection.
KLIKWizard will automatically select the same Wi-Fi that the PC is connected to. Enter the Wi-Fi password. See your administrator or Wi-Fi router instructions for the password. Press Next to continue.
KLIK allows customization of the Standby screen, by applying any image as a wallpaper. A number of wallpapers are available inside the KLIKWizard, with the Standard KLIK wallpaper selected by default. Press Next to continue with the Standard wallpaper or proceed to the next step in wallpaper selection.
Use the scroll bar to browse through the available wallpapers included with the KLIKWizard. Custom images may be uploaded by either pressing the Upload Image button to search the local machine, or dragging the image file to KLIKWizard. Web images may be loaded by pasting their web address (url) in the Download Image field.
All images must be a minimum of 1280 x 720 pixels, and in either JPG or PNG file formats.
Images that are 1280 x 720 pixels will be loaded directly, and KLIKWizard will move to the next stage of setup.
KLIKWizard allows use of images in excess of 1280 x 720 pixels or in aspect ratios other than 16:9, through the built-in image cropping utility.
For images larger than 1280 x 720 pixels, the cropping tool allows for selection and scaling of any area of the image. Drag the corner of the cropping tool to resize the selection and move the selection pane over the content selected for the wallpaper. Press Next to continue.
Select a name for the KLIK device being configured and enter it in the KLIK Name field. Use up to 15 alphanumeric characters, excluding special characters.
Enter an Admin password to prevent unauthorized changes to KLIK settings. This password is used only for KLIK setup and settings changes.
The General Settings page allows selection of the display language from the pull-down window.
The User Password switch determines if users will need to enter the on-screen password to connect with KLIK. User password restricts access to KLIK by ensuring that users are in the room, and see the password. Access further information on Password Access.
Presenter Override determines whether new presenters can override the streaming session of a current user. When the feature is Off, the current presenter has exclusive use of the screen, and cannot be "bumped off" the screen. When the feature is On, a new user session will terminate a current session.
Review all settings before committing them to the KLIK. Click on the Edit button to make changes to the setting as required. KLIKWizard will return to that setup page and prompt the user to continue through the balance of the pages until they return to the Review page. Click Next when satisfied with the displayed settings.
KLIKWizard will start the configuration of the KLIK device. During the configuration, the PC will connect to the KLIK directly, configure it for the selected network settings, then proceed with the balance of the configuration. This process could take several minutes to complete, as progress is indicated by the circle. During configuration the PC should remain in the same location to ensure sufficient Wi-Fi signal strength is available to complete the process.
The Setup Complete page appears when the KLIK is fully configured and has been found by KLIKWizard on the network. Click on the Windows or Mac icons to download the KLIKConnect app for access to additional features, such as Password Access, Moderator Mode, Annotation and KLIKStream, two-way remote viewing.
