The KLIKWizard application automates KLIK setup and configuration, by guiding the user through the process of discovery, application of options and customization of desktop wallpaper and device name.
Under certain conditions, KLIKWizard may fail to discover the KLIK, stopping the setup process. Here are the most common reasons why that may be happening, and how to solve the issue.
In some cases, the KLIKWizard app may fail to discover a KLIK device to complete setup. This can be caused by several different factors, including those related to the laptop, the Wi-Fi configuration and other issues.
Try this First
Verify that your laptop can find the KLIK's Wi-Fi SSID before running the KLIKWizard, by following this procedure:
- Close the KLIKWizard and ensure no other KLIK applications are running on the laptop.
- Note the name of the displayed SSID on the KLIK screen under the "Connect your device to this Network" label.
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on your laptop and search for the displayed KLIK SSID, then select it. No password is required.
- Once connected, open a browser and enter the IP address displayed on the KLIK Screen (192.168.59.254) to load the KLIK Control Center.
If you have successfully connected to the KLIK using this method, it should be possible to use the KLIKWizard for setup by noting the following potential issues.
Wi-Fi Enabled PC
Ensure that the Windows or Mac computer running the KLIKWizard has Wi-Fi enabled and is connected to the same Access Point (router) that the KLIK will be connected to.
Signal Strength
Ensure that the PC is in close proximity to the KLIK being set up, and that there is sufficient signal strength from the Wi-Fi at that location. In general, the PC should be located within 10 feet (3m) of the KLIK.
Native & Third-party Blockers
Disable any native or third-party anti-virus, VPN, Firewall or other security measures that may be blocking discovery of the KLIK, using Wi-Fi. Remember to reinstate these apps after completing the installation.
Windows Issues
On Windows PCs, you may have to manually initiate a search for new Wi-Fi access points. Go to PC Settings, Network & Internet, Wi-Fi and select Show Available Access Points.
Other Setup Options
In the event that the KLIKWizard fails to execute as expected, the KLIKStik, KLIKBoks PLUS or KLIKBoks PRO may be configured using an alternate setup method.
KLIK Control Center
THe KLIK Control Center is a web-based setup interface hosted on the KLIK device and is accessible from any device using a web browser. See the guide to the KLIK Control Center page for further details.
On-Screen Display Menu
The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu offers access to essential KLIK settings through a soft control panel accessed through the Configuration page in the KLIK Control Center.
