Scenario: You've set up a KLIK using the KLIKWizard, to connect it to your network using Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi was switched off for a half hour and now the KLIK is no longer connected to the network, and you KLIKWizard can't find it to restart the connection process.
First, it's important to know that once the device is set up and renamed, the Wizard ignores it, unless it's connected to the network, so this is not anomalous behavior. The KLIKWizard is designed to automate the setup of KLIK devices that have never been set up before.
There are several ways to get the device back on the WLAN, depending on what you'd rather do, and which model you have.
The easiest is to connect directly to the KLIK from a PC or smartphone and follow this procedure:
- Connect to the KLIK using Wi-Fi from a PC, tablet or smartphone.
- Open a browser window and enter the IP address shown on the display screen that the KLIK is attached to (192.168.59.254).
- Log in to the KLIK Control Center using the admin password (default is 'admin')
- Select Settings, Wireless Settings, then Scan for Wi-Fi, to discover all available Wi-Fi access points. Select 'Connect to hidden SSID' if the AP is not broadcasting an SSID.
- Select the desired AP from the list, enter the password, and click on 'Connect' to complete the connection.
That will reconnect the KLIK to the WLAN. Please note that if the KLIK is disconnected from the WLAN for whatever reason (AP or Router was power-cycled, etc.) it will keep trying to reconnect for 15 minutes, before reverting to soft AP mode and start broadcasting its own SSID.
The other method is to perform a factory default reset, then use the KLIKWizard to find the KLIK and get it back on the network. On KLIK Boks PRO and PLUS (and CLASSIC) models, simply locate the recessed reset button on the underside of the enclosure, press and hold for approximately 30 seconds to initiate the reset. KLIK will revert to factory settings, and the KLIKWizard will locate the device and lead you through the setup process.
KLIK Stik does not have a reset button, so you'll need to connect to it using Wi-Fi, then either follow the re-connection process outlined above, or perform a factory default reset using the On-Screen-Display (OSD). There are 2 ways to perform a factory reset, and the only difference between them is that one resets the standby screen in addition to all of the other settings, back to factory default.
